Inspired by Nature's Barbara Maddox, is influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite movement and their use of brilliant colours on a white background, and also their depiction of realism and truth to nature.

This influence can be seen in the artists work, where the depth of colour of the palette is put to use in a variety of subject matters.

It is mainly in the landscape work that the truth to nature may be seen. Almost photographic in appearance, the finest detail is picked out by the brush stroke. The light effects are of particular interest, as the fleeting shades are difficult to capture, being ever changing. These moods are captured well and are often remarked on.
